System Requirements

Will Macabacus Macros work with my operating system and version of MS Office?

Macabacus Macros is designed for use on computers running MS Office 2003/07/10 for Windows XP/Vista/7®. As much as we love Apple, Macs are not supported and we have no current plans to support Mac.

When will Macabacus Macros for PowerPoint® be available?

This product is still under development. Note that PowerPoint® 2003 will not be supported.

Troubleshooting

Updates to Macabacus Macros are made as soon as problems are identified and corrected, so your problem may be fixed by simply installing the latest version. If you are still having problems, email help@macabacus.com.

I get an error message saying that my copy of Macabacus Macros is not authorized for my computer.

Your Macabacus Macros installation is valid for a single computer only. If you are using one of our free products, you can log in to re-download and install Macabacus Macros to your new computer. If you are using one of our paid products, you can also log in to re-download your software, but you will need to provide either your old computer's name or your activation code.

Undo/Redo does not work correctly.

Excel's® built-in Undo/Redo functionality is destroyed when macros are run (not just Macabacus' macros). Macabacus Pro is one of the few Excel add-ins that replaces this lost functionality. Macabacus Lite does not include Undo/Redo functionality.

I get an error message that says "Can't find project or library" after installing Macabacus.

Make sure that you have Microsoft XML, v6.0 installed. A typical Office installation will include Microsoft XML, v6.0, but some versions (e.g. student editions) may not. To install Microsoft XML, use your Office installation CD, DVD, or file.

I want to download the full version of Macabacus Macros, but only the "Lite" version is available.

Macabacus Pro for Excel® will be available for beta users in late 2011 / early 2012. Stay tuned for updates on its status. Macabacus Suite for Office® is still in development and will be available sometime thereafter.

Why can't I download Macabacus Macros?

Macabacus Macros can be downloaded from any modern browser. If you cannot download this software, you are probably using an unsupported browser such as Internet Explorer 6. Please upgrade your browser and try downloading again. Alternatively, you can download from another computer, such as your personal computer, and then transfer the installation file to the computer on which you want to install Macabacus Macros.

When I close Excel®, I am prompted for a password and I must click Cancel several times before I can exit.

This is a problem with Google Desktop as reported at http://www.add-ins.com/password_problem.htm. You may want to try installing the latest version of Google Desktop or uninstalling/disabling it altogether.

Trial Versions

Macabacus Pro and Suite can be downloaded and evaluated free of charge for 90 days. Trial versions are fully functional and offer all tools and features found in the paid versions. Once the trial period ends, you will be unable to login into Macabacus Pro or Suite from within Microsoft® Office® applications. At this point, you will need to purchase a license from the Macabacus.com website after logging into your Macabacus.com account.

Like any good software or consumer product company, we like to know who is using our product. The personally identifiable information ("PII") we collect from you during registration is used for internal purposes only, and is never sold to or shared with third parties. We may use your contact information to inform you of product updates or new products. However, you'll find that we keep our communications to you to a minimum.
